The finish that covers everything else
Carpet lining and flooring are what you see and feel every time you open the door. They also hide the insulation, wiring and fixings behind them, so they are fitted last and need the work underneath to be right first.
Carpet lining
Lined panels, doors and roof
We use fire retardant 4-way stretch automotive carpet or fire retardant 4-way stretch faux suede, bonded with high-temperature adhesive so it holds in a van that sits in the sun. Panels, pillars, wheel arches, door cards and the roof can all be lined, either as part of a conversion or on a van that is otherwise standard.
Lining is fitted over the insulation rather than instead of it. Where a van comes to us bare, we will normally recommend sound deadening and thermal insulation first, because once the carpet is bonded on it is not coming back off tidily.

Flooring
A floor that is level, insulated and easy to clean
Insulated sub-floor
Closed-cell insulation is laid into the corrugations so the floor is both level and insulated, rather than simply boarded over.
Ply deck
A ply deck is cut to the vehicle and fixed down to give a solid base for furniture, seat-belted travel seating and floor fixings.
Vinyl or wood-effect finish
A hard-wearing vinyl or wood-effect covering is laid over the deck and trimmed to the door apertures, so it wipes clean after a wet or muddy trip.
